Los Coronados Islands, Sun Feb 10, 2008

We did 2 dives this morning at the Coronados. The surg was marginal with a slight current! Both dives were at Lobster shack, as conditions seemed no better at Middle Grounds. Surrounded by playful Sea Lions, lots of pups on North Island this year. We must of had about 50 Sea Lions wanting to play with us. Nearly the largest group we’ve had join one of our tours! The old cruiser wreck is REALLY getting torn up. The flybridge is now totally disconnected from the boat and sitting upright about 5 ft to the South of the hull. Lots of growth on it now & a few Rockfish hiding in and around the hull. Lowest temp I got was 53deg (Suunto) at 64′ deep. Usual critters seen… a lot of the huge Sheepshead and schooling Surfperch hanging about.

Viz: 60 - 80 ft
Max depth: 64 fsw
Temp: 55F
