Yukon & Ruby E, Tue Jan 1, 2008
To start off the New Year, gladly accepted an invite on Ed’s yacht & headed out of Dana landing, and out to the Yukon. Dolphins and sea lions were enjoying the sunshine and a school of baitfish near the surface. Very little swell, but had strong surges near the cutouts. Dropped down and entered through the stern, and exited starboard near the front of the props. Great dive and fun adventure. Temp seemed a lot colder than the 54F my Suunto read. Saw a massive lingcod inside the observation tower.
Got to the Ruby E, stern buoy is still missing, bow mooring has been replaced and positioned on the wheelhouse. Saw more Dolphins and sea lions chasing a school of baitfish near the surface. I think the viz was actually a bit better than the Yukon, maybe 25 ft. There was a bit of a current going through, but otherwise a great dive.
