Pt Loma Kelp Beds, Sun Nov 18, 2007

It was cold and foggy Sunday morning, but we were determined to collect abalone data off south Point Loma. The water was only 8-10 ft of visibility and a cold 55F. We anchored in thick kelp in 60ft of water off the light house. It took all our efforts to find the two abalone necessary for the nearest neighbor survey. As we came back into the harbor we were happy to see the sun again.

Viz: 8-10 ft
Max depth: 62 fsw
Temp: 55F
Bottom time: 57 mins
